Aaaaaaand.... We're Back!
Hey everyone!
I thought it was time to start blogging again, especially since I'm starting a new journey (and I have a new phone I can just type on). Other journeys with WW and other fad diets haven't worked out so I'm turning to the new fad: intermittent fasting (IF).
I won't go that into it, but this is the subreddit for those of you that like reading all about things. The main idea is that there is a period of time during every day that I eat, the majority of the time being that I don't eat (minimum 16 hours). There are all kinds of different ways you can do this, so again, the subreddit. However, I'm on Day 2 and I'm noticing a difference in my overall feelings about food: mainly that I appreciate it more and I don't eat mindlessly.
I don't know how legit Healthline is but I read also this article about the benefits and things to consider when doing IF.
I'm not gonna lie... I am just plain tired of being fat. I am the heaviest I've ever been at +/-190 lbs and I FEEL fat. Like, my arms wiggle more, my stomach is protruding way more than it ever has, and I have that little stupid flab that pours over the top of my bra by my armpit. It's awful and I hate it.
I have had a thyroid problem for the past 5+ years, and although I'm on medication I still can't seem to exercise enough to lose weight and I'm always tired. My last blood test showed I was borderline for needing a larger dose of Levothyroxine, but the doctor said it was within normal range so no need. I beg to disagree because how I feel says a lot more in my experience. It was why I went to the doctor about it in the first place.
Anyway, I will say hour 14-16 of fasting is pretty much the worst, but I'm so far fasting from 8pm to 12pm. It seems to be working well. There are crazy people who fast all day and eat all their calories in 1 hour. I will NEVER do that. However, if I can make this work I might cut it down to where I fast 8pm to 2pm and only eat within 6 hours. We'll see how it goes.
Let me know:
1) Have you ever tried intermittent fasting?
2) Have you tried a similar lifestyle change, and if so what was it?
