First Post!

Hello!

I have tried to create a myriad of blogs. I think like most blogger I had a "Whatever I want to post" blog, a "classy" blog about wine, a travel blog I forgot about in 2 days, and now I have created a health and weight loss blog. This is all in an effort to create a healthier me, and to give others advice and encouragement along the way.

I can't help but feel like I'm doing what everyone else is doing. There are countless health blogs out there, and all of them jump on my Instagram posts when I post a picture of what I ate for lunch. But I have been "in it for the long run before" only to fall off the horse and not get back on. Economic stresses, a 20-something-year-old's social life, and living with my parents (whom I love) have all put a damper on my weight loss journey. There was literally a week in the past few months with, trying to fit my hobbies in with my new job, where I had gotten fast food 4 times.... 4 TIMES... in one week. Then I found that since May, when we had all lost weight for my brother's wedding, I have gained about 15 lbs. That's no small amount... All because of poor planning and no exercise.

This blog is not going to be all about me, though. Who wants to read about my boring life? Rather, I want to post in tandem with my already boisterous Instagram health posts, and help other people on their journey as well. I can't help but feel that others have been in the same boat I am. I know that in the past my posts have inspired friends of mine to make healthier choices in their lives, and they've told me so. I would love to do that for so many others, especially woman and men in my same age group and living situation.

I'll break it down for you. I commute at least 2 and a half hours per day. While I don't have to wake up particularly early, I work 6 days per week at 2 jobs. I like to have hobbies: Cal football, playing music in my community's band, and sometimes being able to read for pleasure. I, like most people, need to do chores like laundry, dishes, cooking. I also have a boyfriend and a family that I like to spend time with, as well as events I have to stay late for at work.

Life is a balancing act, and having just settled into a new routine in the past few months, I'm learning to juggle more. There are a few things I've learned in the past years I want to write about and share with others. Some future posts will include: How to find time and energy to exercise, How whining gets in the way, Living with hypothyroid, Apps that help keep you in check, Diets that don't work, Sleep is your friend, etc.

I hope you will decide to follow my weight loss journey, and that I will inspire you to start your own.
